For Today

Outside my window...the sun is shining and the birds are chirping. What a beautiful day!!!
I am thinking...about how complicated it is to balance being my kids' friend as well as their parent.
I am thankful for...my happy healthy children and a wonderful, supportive husband who helps me raise them through all the chaos.
From the kitchen...is the scent of pizza that was made for dinner tonight.
I am wearing...my usual wardrobe. Jeans and a shirt. I sure wish I had the nerve to spice up my wardrobe a bit.
I am creating...this blog. I'm new to this but I'm excited to start something different.
I am going...to Iowa on Sunday to drop off my oldest son to his grandparents for 3 weeks. Excited for him to go and spend time with them but it will be kind of lonely around here without him.
I am reading...a book by my favorite author (right now) Debbie Macomber. I tend to find an author I like and then devour everything I can find that he or she has written.
I am hoping...that my kids grow up realizing that I've given them all the wisdom that I've learned over the years.
I am hearing...my 3 1/2 year old recite his favorite movie "Cars", which has become a nightly ritual.
Around the house...are various cars scattered around from the aforementioned child.
One of my favorite things...is the sound of my childrens laughter. Especially my 11 year old daughter because she does not express her emotions very often.
A few plans for the rest of the week:getting Blake packed for his trip to Iowa.
